TRUE SELF MEDITATION

This meditation is a short cut to your most authentic self and a way to quickly release any emotional energy you’ve picked up from people around you. Since this is a very charged time of month you may be picking up on other people’s energy which your body will process as it’s own to regulate. This is a great tool to get back to yourself quickly.

SHOPPING FOR UPCOMING OVULATORY PHASE

Looking ahead, these are the foods containing the nutrients and minerals your body needs for healthy ovulation. Ovulation is the shortest phase, only about 3-4 days but you can make these shops last weekly if that’s easier for planning.

SKIN CARE FOR THE OVULATORY PHASE

This phase is when estrogen and testosterone levels peak. When these hormones are high enough, they signal a dramatic increase in the luteinizing hormone. If you experience hormonal acne, his surge occurs directly prior to the onset of hormonal acne. So prevention and getting control over breakouts is key at this time.

To prepare for upcoming oil production, deep-clean pores with a detoxifying mask and exfoliate with lactic acid to keep pores free from buildup. Lactic acid is often combined with hyaluronic acid and retinol which should be used very carefully to not irritate the skin. Lactic acid can also be found in yogurt if you’d like to try a home remedy face mask.

For non acne prone skin light moisture is key as oil production starts to increase after ovulation and into the duration of the luteal phase.

Testosterone levels can contribute to facial hair production as well so you may need to keep your tweezers near by!

EXERCISE

Our bodies don’t have a huge amount of testosterone, but it rises during ovulation and this makes it an ideal time to really push your workouts. This is the time when you might set your personal bests and enjoy high-intensity training. HITT classes and other high energy styles of exercise are most suited to this phase.

There is some evidence that, when oestrogen is high, around the late follicular phase and ovulation, there is an increased risk of injury, because the hormone makes ligaments and tendons more lax so just make sure you warm up enough.
