This is inspired by the first step in a Scientifically Validated Dream-Realization Exercise discovered by Gabriele Oettingen, a German psychologist and academic. This exercise and the exercises in the next few days to follow are based on a psychological principle called "mental contrasting" that involves mentally focusing on the contrast between the positive aspects of one's goals and the negative aspects of one's obstacles or current situation. The acronym is WOOP - wish, outcome, obstacle, plan.
